New Hanover hospital foundation receives $2.1 million donation

Hanover Regional medical Center Foundation announced today that it has received
a $2.1 million gift from the Dan Cameron Family Foundation.
The money is to support the hospital foundation’s capital campaign -- Our
Health, Our
Hospital, Our Future. The hospital foundation hopes to raise a total of $7
million to help
accommodate the growing needs of the region.
The Cameron foundation donation is the largest cash gift in the 16-year history
of the
hospital foundation. The donation gave the foundation naming rights for a new
Women’s
and Children’s Center, which is under construction. It will be named after Betty
H.
Cameron.
The center is the focal point of the hospital’s $190 million expansion project.
