NEW YORK, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- U.S. actor George Clooney
says he "couldn't be prouder" to be the friend of globetrotting
do-gooders Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Over the past year or so, Pitt and Jolie have traveled ceaselessly,
raising awareness and offering humanitarian aid to some of the
world's neediest citizens.
"I'm concerned for their well-being," Clooney said. "I'm more
concerned by the idea that if you don't do those things, what does
that mean? ... I couldn't be prouder to be their friend. I think
that they're doing a phenomenal job. They're really committed to
bringing attention. They have a very smart theory, which is, if the
cameras are going to follow them, they're going to go where the
cameras can do some good."
Clooney dismissed reports that Pitt and Jolie will marry at his home
in Italy, adding he thinks the false rumors came from a local hotel
trying to boost its business during the off-season.
"The last two years, it's been sold out in November or March -- sold
out for weeks because they thought it was Brad and Angelina, Tom
(Cruise) and Katie (Holmes.) That hotel is leaking the story." |
